Unbreakable: The Western States 100 – November 25 release!!

Not soon enough for Great North Walk 100s inspiration but just in time for Coast 2 Kosci, Unbreakable: The Western States Movie will finally begin screening globally on November 25th 2011.

Why have runners been blogging, talking and anticipating this film for close to 18 months?

Because it just happened to be filmed the year that 100-milers went from being long runs to being seriously hard-fought races. There have always been competitive endurance runners, fighting for placings. But in 2010, 3 of the all-time best (we think, and so do a lot of other ultra runners) duelled for over 12 hours. And, unusually for such a coming-of-age moment, high quality documentary making caught it all.

Here’s a taste as Anton Krupicka, Geoff Roes, and a young man by the name of Kilian Jornet tear up the hallowed course from Squaw Valley to Auburn, California that began 100-mile trail running in America.

Anybody with news of when this is available in Australia we’d love to know, and we’ll keep our ears out in the meantime in case there’s any word on it.
