Who can make a Boulder claim about Hoka One One?

Fascinating to talk today with Johnny Halberstadt, President and co-owner of Boulder Running Company, about all things American running culture, ultra running, the barefoot and minimalist movement, and his love for Hoka One One as a running shoe.

When a dude with his experience, a 3:59 mile, 2:12 marathon, 5:45 Comrades, and a 6:45 100km comes out so intensely supportive of a new running technology, it certainly casts the minimal v maximal discussion in a new light.

His fellow BRC owner, Mark Plaatjes, is also a big supporter of the shoe. As winner of multiple marathons, 1993 World Marathon Champion, and one of Boulder’s most highly regarded physical therapists, his credentials are about as good as they get.

Video of the interview with Johnny will be posted here in the coming weeks – as soon as I get back to a PC which can handle uploading video in the way that iPad as yet refuses to.
