Andy Bowen – 33 Marathons, GPS dramas, heading through halfway!

The inevitable ‘they’ say that only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Well, how about doggedly determined English madmen? Could have said ‘doggedly determined naturalised Australians’ but it doesn’t have the same flow, exactly.

Australia’s own burning man, Andy Bowen continues to defy gravity, knocking over more than 640km the first 8 days of running 33 Marathons across the Nullarbor. By the end of today he will be more than halfway home. What a champion!!

Hard to know what’s happening for the big man. His Facebook page (the one place we didn’t go looking for updates – whoops) has been kept on track by co-superstar, Andy’s wife Angie. His GPS tracker apparently went under a road train, leaving his satellite tracking map looking a bit forlorn.

Our thoughts and hopes go to Andy – massive heart on this man!! It’s not too late to visit his donation page to raise money for autism and research into SIDS. And our big best wishes go to Angie, Jack, and Harry. We think you and Andy are pretty much a bunch of total legends.

Can’t wait to hear more about what’s happening out there.
